About Us
THE STORY BEHIND
THE NAME
My father was an only child, as was his best friend. They went off to WWII together, but my father returned home alone. His friend died serving our country on D-Day. His parents "adopted" my Dad as their own and I was fortunate to have them as "adopted" grandparents. They retired to their country home outside of Cooperstown,NY. We visited often and took frequent trips into town. Aunt Jewel would tell Uncle Harold to take the Trumpet Hill way—a typical country road—a windy, dirt path which crested with gorgeous trumpet vines abound and a view of the rolling hills of Cherry Valley. I always loved the ride and cherished the visits…and never forgot the Trumpet Hill way.
At Trumpet Hill, you will find great staff, wonderful yarns, patterns, and ever-changing classes to challenge, create, and stimulate. Please come, bring your social knitting, and enjoy the warm welcome of Trumpet Hill.

ABOUT US
The Capital District in NYS had a calling for a yarn shop that offered fine yarns and classes. As I embarked on my next personal chapter in life, I chose the opportunity to open Trumpet Hill...Fine Yarns&Accents. The shop officially opened on December 2, 2006.
Thanks to a great staff and talented group of instructors, I guarantee you a wonderful experience here at Trumpet Hill.
Our mission, in part, is to have someone say they cannot do something, encourage them to do it and accomplish it. We see their confidence level rise and feel the joy they share in their experience. That is our reward. This is true of all levels of knitters and crocheters.
